Disability Working – Our Training
Are you seeking to be a more inclusive employer, a more accessible business or a more diverse organisation? Would you like to understand more about a specific disability, about physical and mental disabilities and about making adjustments? Are you concerned about how to welcome a new colleague or activity user with a disability? Not sure even what counts as a disability?
Disability and Employment

At a time when over two-thirds of UK business are facing a shortage of labour* there is a compelling reason to build an inclusive workforce. In addition, seeking out disabled employees will expand your recruitment reach, will bring you their highly-developed problem-solving skills, and will improve staff morale through greater diversity and understanding*
At DAS, we know too well from our own experience of helping people with disabilities, they can feel, and be excluded*, even written off, a by society who often only sees their disability rather than their ability. To help rectify this, we are now actively working with employers to help them to learn how to recruit, support and benefit from the huge contribution that people with disabilities can bring to workplaces.
Disability and Social Activity

The training we offer is not just limited to employment, we know that social and community organisations and activities want to be more inclusive too, with mutual benefits to people with disabilities and society alike. If that’s you and you don’t know where to start, we can help you.
We can provide training and consultancy packages to help organisations to travel from a place of limited knowledge and the barriers of fear or concern about disability, to one where they have a successful, inclusive work or social place, with all the benefits this brings.
We work with your organisation on a one to one basis, tailoring the length, content, location timing and cost of our training to fit with you and your needs. However, here are few examples of what we can provide: All our training includes practical examples from those living with disabilities and their experiences.
-

-
How to reach more people with disabilities, for job vacancies and participation in activities
-
How to meet the needs of people with disabilities: responsibilities and making reasonable adjustments
