DAS employs 5 part-time staff and 20 trained volunteers who provide advice and administration support as well as helping with IT, fundraising and PR.
Manager
Our Manager has overall responsibility for our advice services, as well as the administration of the organisation. She works closely with her team and is heavily involved in the everyday work of DAS – including advice, duty and appeals work – she also leads on our crisis work.
Senior Welfare Rights Advisor
Our Senior Welfare Rights Advisor is responsible for ensuring the quality of our welfare rights advice. They work with a team of Volunteer Advisors and Duty Advisors – acting as a source of expertise for the organisation.
Facilities Manager
Our Facilities Manager oversees our volunteer administrators. He is responsible for the smooth-running of our office, building and physical resources. Additionally he is involved in fundraising and statistics – also co-ordinates our IT systems (working with our volunteer IT Manager) and trains staff in those areas.
Duty Advisors
Our Duty Advisors are responsible for the initial front-line customer service aspect of DAS. They ensure the smooth running of our communication systems, high standards of record keeping and, with our Volunteer Duty Team, are the first base for many of our clients.
they also offer expert advice in welfare benefits and much more – including helping our clients to understand what benefits they should be applying for and how to begin an appeals process.
